FAQ

Welcome to our Dental Practice FAQ section! Here, you'll find answers to common questions about our services and what to expect. Your smile is our priority, so feel free to explore and reach out with any further inquiries!

Are you currently accepting new patients?

We are currently taking on private and denplan patients. We are also able to register children under the age of 16 on our NHS list.

I am an NHS patient, can I get white fillings and crowns?

There are limits to NHS treatment, and only front teeth qualify for white crowns and fillings. All of our patients are given the option to have private courses of treatment, without affecting their NHS registration. We are happy to discuss this with you further at your appointment.

How often should I visit the dentist?

For low risk patients the NHS advises to have a routine checkup once every year. We encourage children, denplan and private patients to come every 6 months for their dental checkup. We are happy to see our low risk NHS patients who wish to be seen sooner on a private basis.

I am scared of the dentist, what should I expect when coming for an appointment?

Phobias of the dentist are really common, don't worry, we don't take it personally! Initial visits are a good way to get to know us without worrying about treatment. We start with a simple assessment of your mouth and our dedicated and friendly team will discuss things with you and move at a pace you are comfortable with. We also encourage nervous patients to bring someone along with them. You are in control of how we proceed with your treatment and we will move forward unless you are  comfortable.

When should I start bringing my child to the dentist?

We would advise parents to bring children along to see them have their dental checkups as young as possible to familiarise them with the dental environment. Once teething starts, you can bring them along for a checkup as soon as you feel comfortable doing so. Don't worry if we can't get a good look yet! This is common and we will build on this with each visit.

I need alot of work done to my teeth, do yous have offer payment plans?

Yes! We have different finance options available for higher levels of private treatment. These plans can be discussed with your dentist at your appointment.

I don't stay locally, am I able to join your practice?

Ofcourse! We have patients who visit us from all different parts of the country, and other countries too! Everyone is welcome here at Templehill Dental Practice.

I am visiting the area and need an emergency dental appointment, can I come to your practice?

We would hate for your visit to the area to be dampened by toothache. We are happy to see visitors on a private basis if we have appointments available.

I have dental insurance through my work, does this cover my treatment?

Each policy is different so we would advise you to read through your documents carefully. Usually, payment is made to us as normal and we give you a stamped receipt to send to your insurer to claim back. Our dentists are also happy to fill out any forms necessary to help you with your claim.
